MusicNC Announces Sponsorship Of Spring Concert Featuring Certain Seas
CHAPEL HILL — MusicNC is proud to announce its sponsorship of a spring concert showcasing three standout Triangle bands—Certain Seas, Erie Choir, and Neon Ruins—on April 10, 2026, at Local 506 in Chapel Hill.
This folk rock–centric lineup highlights the quality and depth of North Carolina’s thriving music community. Headlining the evening is Certain Seas, the indie folk project of Katherine Whalen, best known as a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Squirrel Nut Zippers. With her unmistakable voice and eclectic songwriting, Whalen exudes a rich, roots-infused sensibility that blends indie folk with classic Americana influences.
Rounding out the bill are Erie Choir, known for their atmospheric textures and hook-laden songwriting, and Neon Ruins, whose dynamic live performances fuse folk storytelling with driving, melodic energy. Together, the three acts promise an evening that celebrates the creative spirit of North Carolina’s indie music scene.
“MusicNC is committed to supporting homegrown artists and promoting the state’s music ecosystem,” said Wendy McAvoy, Program Director of MusicNC. “We worked really hard to put together a lineup perfect for a spring evening out on Franklin Street. I think we succeeded.”
Local 506, a cornerstone venue in Chapel Hill’s historic music scene, provides an intimate setting for fans to experience these artists up close.
Doors open at 8 pm, and advance tickets are now for sale.
